Tonight we were feeding our friends downtown, a fight errupted between a couple of homeless men. Who knows what it was about, but we were all a little on edge...
Then God Showed Up, right on time...
One of the men asked for prayer, as Allen led a prayer for the man and his meal, everyone started to cry, then we laughed, then a car full of children being driven by their mother pulled up. Didn't have enough food to feed them all, but they were in tattered tshirts n no socks, at least 4 children Maybe 5...we were able to clothe them and provide a blanket or 2 for this cold night...
Before we knew it the fighting was over, we were back in our groove and one of the homeless men told us that the sun was shining because God Was Happy!!! Never loose sight of the Love that Jesus told us to share with one another, it's truely his Grace, manifested through us!
Boom, real talk!

shot out to God with a voice triumph

I woke up this morning feeling underused and overwhelmed...

I see suffering and sadness and bullying and hate manifesting itself as Christian Faith...

NO

I refuse to believe that my God, that sacrificed the best he had in his Son, would ever want us, as the beneficients of said Grace ,to be the wielders Of that manifestation.

When we truly recognize that greatest of sacrifices, how could we ever be the givers of hate? How could we ever turn a blind eye to suffering? How could we ever let our neighbors go hungry?!

Today is brighter than ever and glorious because I belong to HIM...

My hands, My feet, My eyes are His.

He is Glorious, He is Gracious, He makes my life full.

To The people that use hate as a tool for their gains in this world, i say this...

The Author of my salvation loves us all.
Taken as we are found, he asks us only too Love each other.
 All of us
Regardless

ALL OF US

Knowing God vs knowing God's plan

I've been posting a lot of videos lately trying to get people to understand the crisis that we have in our own country and around the world. Of the billions of people on the planet do we even know how many of them are hungry, how many of them are homeless, how many of them need medical attention?
yes we do!
In 2013 The CDC estimated that over 2 BILLION people worldwide have inadequate or nonexistent health care 842million of the world's population is hungry, and 786 million people are considered homeless in the world. 10.2 million in the United States aloneare homeless, which is out numbered by vacant homes by a multiple of 5.
these numbers are staggering and unacceptable.
Do we know what God has planned?
I can't pretend to know why our planet is in such disarray, and misery.it is only when we stop wondering why and start working together that these problems become smaller and eventually go away. We must stop asking what God has planned. We have to stop wondering why God allows things to happen.

The point here is, when we stop searching for answers from God concerning his plan for our lives and start walking forward in faith knowing that we should do the right thing out of love all the time, his plan slowly becomes reality.

Is it so hard to imagine a world with no poverty, hunger or sickness?
when we all walk forward, doing the best we can to help everyone we can in the name of our Father in Heaven, anything becomes possible.
the most important thing to remember is that it starts with us individually with the people that we see when we look to the left and to the right of us. Change starts with us. God bless you all and have a great day

Happy Days?

I hope everyone is having a blessed and happy Friday.  I say I hope everyone is having a blessed and happy Friday... I know for a fact however that not everyone is very happy today. We live in Spartanburg County, a county with just over 300,000 people and a median income of $37,000 per capita income of $18,000.

12% of the population of Spartanburg County lives under the poverty line. in case you do poorly in math that is 36,000 people... 36,000 people!

of those 36,000 people, Spartanburg County Department of Health and Environmental Control estimates that 62% are hungry.

in case you still don't get it, 22,000 people in Spartanburg County are hungry right now while we eat our fast food our steaks and our lobster while we go to work with our lunch bags there are lots of people that are starving.

I am in touch with over 3,000 people on social networking applications. if each of those people were to give $1 to from God's hands inc, can you imagine the work we could do? We could function if everyone gave only 10 cents because every penny donated to this organization buys food for those 22,000 hungry people.

I live by the philosophy that if I can help someone I will. I also believe that if we are able to help anyone, then we are morally obligated to do it. There is no excuse for a community of people that have plenty of change to spare to deny someone food.

you may disagree with my tactics and you may not like what I'm saying right now but shame on us...if you switched to one generic named food at the grocery store and donated the change that you saved from that generic product you could do a world of good for a family in your own community. That's all I have to say today god bless you all and I hope your tummies are full

when being a Christian is hard...

Most of my readers know that i am a believer in outreach. No matter what the need, i want to see it filled.
My week at Salkahatchie was a great experience in filling need.
Im also a huge believer in leading youth into outreach.
My week at Salk. Also proved to be a valuable tool in helping to build relationships with youth and lean them toward outreach.

Today however ive been tested by someone i love, an upstsnding member of our community and lifetime churchgoer...we will call her Ethel.
Ethel has been supportive of Salkahatchie for over 20 years, her now deceased husband (a doctor), financially supported the program for many years as well.
After i explained to Ethel how my week was spent, she shook her head and told me that she was poor as a child and worked her way out of it and refuses to understand how people can allow that to continue. She supports the program but doesnt understand the need.Especially in an entire county like Williamsburg. (Lake City)

Williamsburg County is btw the poorest in SC.
I was marginally offended and wanted to say some non christian things to her. But i did not.
She refuses to understand...that means to me that she does understand but refuses to accept the condition of these families.
She was poor but worked her way out of it, good for her.
I wish i could tell her how my heart feels when i see someone hurting, hungry, devastated and alone. I wish she knew what i know about Gods request that we love everyone no matter what their station in life.
I asked her if shed ever read Great Expectations and she responded "oh yes", to which i quickly retorted "the world would be better if we were all a bit more like Pip".

She smiled and told me that age causes some people to become bitter. She said I was right, and that she needed to remember that when she lost her temper at the world.

Jesus died for us. On a cross with nails holding him in place while bleeding to death after being abused. He, while dying, forgave his abusers and took our sin upon himself. We have no right to hate or hold anger in our hearts. It is hard though, when life throws us curve balls and we cant see past our grief after loosing loved ones, to remain strong. But even though we are constantly thrown into turmoil, God still loves us and will still guide us through our bitterness if we let him.
No one will ever remove my commitment to outreach from my heart.
The enemy tried today...and failed!
Can i get a holla n an AMEN?!
